GPS Outfitters MicroPak GPS Carrying Case This instant

The picture shown is *not* the MicroPak by GPS Outfitters, it's the mid-size "Ultimate" gps case. I'm updating this review after a year of hard use to say that it's the *ultimate* addition to the case Garmin supplied with my etrex Venture GPS. The unit has a belt clip *and* a heavy duty belt loop. Don't trust the belt clip--way too easy to slide off unnoticed in the brush. I added a 2" carabiner clip that I clip to a belt loop and I have bushwacked through some rough country with nothing worse than finding stickers trying hitchhike home. Two (2!) front zippered pockets are perfect for up to 4 spare batteries, the USB cable (and a credit card sized magnifying glass for me!). There are two mesh side pockets, but I couldn't tell you why, they don't have closures. And yes, the etrex GPS fits fully into the case and the cover completely encloses it. It's velcroed, not zippered. A zipper would just interfere with frequently taking it in and out of the case--which is what you're going to do if you use it at all! I left the Garmin supplied case in place, mostly as a screen protector. I'd definitely recommend this case for the etrex. After a year of great times hunting, scouting, camping and geocaching: the ballistic nylon is showing some wear--and that makes me very happy. Check a picture of the MicroPak at the manufacturers website (GPS Outfitters).Get more detail about GPS Outfitters MicroPak GPS Carrying Case.
